Most leadership consultants know one world. Craig Watson has spent nearly a decade living in two — the field and the mind. His background in psychology gives him the tools to understand why people behave the way they do under pressure. His years working directly with construction companies give him the credibility to apply those tools where they matter most: on the job site, in the crew, and in the culture that holds it all together.
Turnover. Safety incidents. Disengaged crews. Communication that breaks down between the field and the office. These aren't random problems — they're predictable outcomes when companies build great projects but haven't built great leaders to run them.
Craig has spent nearly a decade partnering with construction companies to close that gap. His work focuses on the people-side challenges that most directly impact safety, productivity, and retention — and on giving leaders the behavioral tools to address them before they become crises.
His approach isn't theoretical. It's translational. He takes what behavioral science knows about human motivation, communication, and culture — and converts it into frameworks that work in steel-toe boots, not boardrooms.
Craig grew up around construction. He knows what a job site sounds like at 6am, what it costs when a foreman can't hold a team together, and what it feels like to watch a good worker walk off the job because the leadership wasn't there.
He also trained as a licensed professional counselor — spending years studying the psychology of motivation, communication, and behavior change. Then he brought both worlds together, specifically for construction.
Craig isn't teaching theory from a whiteboard. He's translating proven behavioral science into practical tools your leaders can use on Monday morning.

Craig's published book brings the four-pillar framework — Motivation, Communication, Culture, and Coaching — into a format every construction leader can use. Written specifically to bridge the generational gap between veteran tradesman and the supervisors coming up behind them.
Construction workers face one of the highest suicide rates of any profession — up to five times the national average. Craig developed Hard Hat Help in partnership with Columbia University to give supervisors a practical, field-ready tool for assessing mental health risk and connecting workers to the right resources. This is leadership work that saves lives.
A structured training program that equips supervisors, foremen, and project managers with practical leadership tools — available online, through coaching, or delivered in person. The curriculum extension of the Field Manual, built for organizational-scale change.
For nearly a decade, Craig has partnered directly with construction companies — working with leadership teams, facilitating assessments, leading workshops, and building the internal structures companies need to develop and retain their people over the long term.
Don't worry, we can help!
